It's Downhill From Here

Wow, it has been super long since I last posted! I have done all kinds of crazy stuff since I last posted! There is SO MUCH stuff to catch up on! Ok, well let me start with the main reason that I haven’t posted for so long. I have been working super hard on my Algebra 2 class, and I finally got that knocked out last night. It was like 10:30 PM when I got it done, and I played “We are the Champions” pretty loud. Ok, actually it was QUITE loud! Before I played the song I walked over to where mom was working on stuff, grabbed a barstool and my latest module of algebra, got on top of the barstool, and did a crazy victory dance. It was pretty awesome! Anyway, so that’s what’s been keeping me busy!

A week ago Saturday, Skyler came over and we went snow-shoveling. We did like 2 driveways, and we were on our 3rd when Mike accidentally ran over a newspaper with the monster snowblower. The newspaper ended up jamming the whole machine, so we spent the next 4 or 5 hours working on removing the newspaper. I won’t take the time to explain the way that a snowblower works here, but suffice it to say that when a newspaper gets wedged in between a blade and the outer housing, it is not cool! It ended up being a fun “bonding” time for me, Mike and Skyler though! We hacked at that newspaper with screwdrivers, knives, hangers, hacksaw blades, and we even set it on fire! No joke, we actually set it on fire! The 3 of us are natural pyromaniacs, so of course we were very safe in what we did, and I am dead serious. We ended up stopping before my parents got home though, because we were thinking “Oh man, if they catch us, we are going to be in super big trouble!” Eventually, they did get home and my dad came in the garage to help us with the snowblower. So he walks into the garage and goes “I hear you got a newspaper stuck in the snowblower. Why don’t you just burn it out?” NO JOKE, that is EXACTLY what he said! The 3 of us just started dying laughing.

Sunday morning I woke up at 5, took a walk around the neighborhood, but then fell back asleep right when I got back. Then Brent woke me up at 8:22, telling me that we were leaving in 8 minutes! Other than that, it was a pretty cool day. I got a chance to discuss a bunch of random different PNG trip stuff with Pat, which was good. Once I got back home I started working on a bunch of school and also knocked out some of my Peru album.

Monday I think I pretty much just worked on math homework the whole day, but everything is starting to blur together. This is one of the main reasons I want to keep up with blogging…

Tuesday I don’t even remember what I did. Dead serious. I want to say that I bought a couple of iPod parts, but I’m not even sure. Oh, I think I shoveled Jen’s driveway with Mike.

Wednesday I was planning on going to Prayer Meeting at night, but that got canceled because of the wind chill. It was like -7 or something. So instead of going to prayer meeting I just stayed at home and knocked out a bunch of math. I also ended up going to the library earlier on in the day. It’s all starting to come back to me! Before I went to the library Mike and I shoveled 311’s driveway, and then we went over to a big snow drift by Chris’ house. We made ourselves a couple of foxholes and waited for Chris. It was like -7 outside, and I was actually nice and toasty because of all the layers I had on. We scared the living daylights out of Chris…it was awesome!
Thursday I basically did school and then went up to the Round Lake Library. I forgot my laptop power cord, so I was restricted to using the library computers. I spent most of my time there souping up my Papua New Guinea blog. Be sure to check that out!

Yesterday (Friday) I went through a bunch of computer junk. Then I started up the van and started loading a bunch of computer stuff into the van. My dad and I ended up taking like 15 cubic feet of computer stuff over to Goodwill. Then dad dropped me off at Fremont and I studied and talked to Joylynn & Melinda for a few hours. I got the bulk of my remaining math homework done here. Then dad picked me up and we went and got pizza. We sped home with the hot pizza, and then we watched a movie. About halfway through the movie I got up and walked downstairs to finish up my math. Like I said, I got done around 10:30, and it was awesome!

After I got done with math I pretty much just “partied” until 3 am. I watched movies and stuff. It’s good to finally be done with that class!

This morning I got up around 9:30 and mostly worked on cleaning a bunch of the basement. I got a ton of stuff done! Besides cleaning the basement I caught up on some reading, organized some pictures, and did some writing. I also started to play around with scanning prints of older photos and making them look nice. I did 3 tonight, one of which is when I’m like under a year old, one from when I’m 2, and one from when I’m 9. The one from when I’m 9 is not quite perfect yet, so I’m going to work on it some more. It’s fun!

I finished reading David Sitton’s book “To Every Tribe with Jesus”. There is a fascinating story at the end of the book about the turning point in the Chambri tribe. It’s all the more fascinating to me because I’m going to be in among that tribe in less than 2 months! I am super excited!

macWell, I guess my excitement has abated a bit by now, but at the time I finished it, I just about went through the roof! Notice that I did a victory dance on top of a barstool! What does that tell you? Ok, nevermind, that just tells you that it's me being pretty normal. Anyway, that makes me pretty excited. Now I am excited! And I need to make a list of PNG prayer points for prayer meetin'
