I got up at a nice and early 7 am yesterday morning, even after being up until midnight the night before. After eating, doing my devotions, and doing my various writing stuff, I began preparing my small group lesson. I had been studying James off and on for the past month. I blocked off one hour to prepare my lesson. This week we were doing an overview on the whole book of James, partially because we don’t have books yet, and partially because that’s what the study guide has you do anyway. I am really excited about doing this study!
I threw myself into my algebra until like 3:30, at which time Andrew called me and wanted to know if I could hang out at the park. So I went over there and hung out with him for about a half hour. I was acting like a crazy ninja, doing all kinds of stunts on the playground equipment. At one point I was sitting on the peak of one of the little roofs, and the high school bus came. Kelly got off the bus and walked by, so Andrew started yelled a greeting to her. Then we both started yelling like asylum inmates.
Yeeeahh! A Mana song just came up on my iPod! Yeeeaaah! Ohh man, I wish I was in Peru right now. So I came home after the park and finished cleaning the house. Dad and mom got home, and then Dad, Mike and I went to Dominicks. We had to pick up pop for small group. I made the Hershey Kiss cookies for the food part of the refreshments.
Kevin, Mark, and Chris were the only ones who could make it to small group. It was still very good. We started out with prayer, and then I started out by telling the guys what book we were going to be studying. We read through the whole book of James, and then we went back and broke the chapters down into themes. Then I read the background info on the author of James (James) that the Navpress book included in the study. I was glad that I had studied this part extensively, because the guys had quite a few questions. We had studied Acts in Sunday school not that long ago, so there were a couple of cool cross-references that ended being nice “aha” moments.
After everybody was gone I made myself a batch of popcorn and hit the couch with my Dirk Pitt book. Oh yeah.

Oh man, I wish I was in Peru too. :( I talked to Ben last night... they're moving to Lima in December and Switzerland in March.
Which means they won't be in Peru in June :( (shut up, I'm not blonde. Yes, I'm aware that I'm pointing out the obvious)
wow, that's a strange video.
Holy cow! I thought it was going to be a lot longer than that! Ruth and I talked about it as I was doing 75 on the highway.
And what did she say?
a couple of years was most likely
