Melanistic Squirrels

Today was relatively uneventful. I got up around 9:30, mostly because I had a headache. I had a whole bunch of different dreams through the course of the night; unfortunately nothing adrenaline-pumping like the one I had a couple of weeks ago about dropping 30 stories in an elevator. Grandma was here up until about 1. I left for the library around 3, and I saw dad there. There were these two guys that were fighting over whether one guy had stolen money from the other guy. The guy who had the money stolen from him asked the librarian to call the police. It was pretty crazy. That’s life in the hood I guess. They were getting ready to THROW DOWN! I was totally going to help break ‘em up too.

On my way home from the library I decided that there are two things that I want to do before we move. #1 is to see a coyote. #2 is to find out what it is that jumps into one of the ponds that I bike past. I’m guessing muskrat, but it could be something relatively boring, such as a duck. I never see my muskrat friends at the other pond anymore. I think the Canadian geese must have driven them off. OK, I need add another thing to the list: I need to get a picture of a melanistic squirrel. Yep, that’s right, on the way to the library there is a family of completely charcoal-black squirrels.

After I got home I read my Dirk Pitt book for a bit, then worked on algebra some more. Then it was time to get ready for basketball. We drove over to Target first, and Dad and I went and got me a new pair of shoes. My old Converse shoes were beginning to wear through to the ground! Joylynn and Ploy are coming to our house tomorrow, and I need to get some sleep!
