Precipitation, Mud & Burnt-Out Forearms

I woke up this morning to the sound of rain falling on the roof. Ok, that’s a bit too serene for me. Actually I didn’t notice that it was raining until like 20 minutes after I got up. It’s been raining for 2 days straight. Mike and I went with mom to her doctor’s appointment yesterday. While she was getting poked full of needles we biked over to the old neighborhood and surprised Josh as he was getting off the school bus. It was tons of fun biking in the rain! We went to the Schwinn shop, Tradewinds, Dominicks, and La Rosita. I rode down the 2 steps at Tradewinds, then started gathering speed, jumped the gap into the next parking lot, started to turn, and did this sahweet burnout! Then on our way back from La Rosita we rode on a dirt path that was really, really muddy. I went through a couple of puddles that were like 4 inches deep. It was awesome! We were so dirty! Then we went over to Josh’s house again and played basketball. There were a couple times that I tried to box Josh out and it TOTALLY was not working! It was loads of fun!

Then today I went with Chuck and Kathy down to Vertical Endeavors. That was a lot of fun. I did like 5 ½ climbs. I belayed Chuck a few times. Grammy came and watched for like 45 minutes. Her house is only like 10 minutes from Vertical Endeavors. Man, I wish I lived that close! That would be dangerous and expensive! I’m probably going to take a lead climbing class down there next year. We went to Fuddruckers for lunch, but I didn’t get the 1-pounder again, mostly because I’m low on cash. Besides, next time I attempt that burger we’re taking pictures! Then we went over to REI and looked around for a bit. I had never been in there before. It’s a very cool store. They have like tons and tons of outdoor adventure equipment. I finally got my crickets today. I can’t believe I put the wrong zip code in AGAIN! I got adult crickets this time, so they are chirping like crazy. The females are laying eggs like there’s no tomorrow. I’m going to switch egg-laying containers every day until all the crickets are gone. Hopefully I’ll have crickets coming out the wazoo soon. The millipede’s taking a big drink right now. That thing is so awesome! It’s so neat to watch. I’m starting to get pumped for the men’s bike trip. I think Ken and I are going to be leaving on Thursday night. It’s going to be so much fun! Yeah, it’s been a pretty sweet weekend so far. I’ll probably go up to the library after church tomorrow and do some stuff like list some iPods, work on my PNG letter, post this, etc, etc. I also need to have my Spanish finished up. Yikes!
