Oliver

For those of you who don't already know and love him, this is Oliver, my pet millipede. He rolls up into a ball-roll type thing just like the tiny millipedes native to America. This has earned him the nickname "Doughnut." I walked into the grooming salon at PetSmart with Oliver crawling on my shoulder, and most of them freaked out. One or two of them thought it was cool. He eats pretty much anything; millipedes are nature's garbage patrol. I have him in the same cage as my green anoles, and a few months ago one of them died. Before I could even remove the dead body the millipede had consumed most of it! It's really, really fun to hold him because all the legs feel really weird moving on your arm! Problem is, if you pick him up too fast, he get's scared and goes the bathroom on you. And it smells BAD!

WOW! that is seriously, really cool! I bet it feels kinda weird when you hold him! He won't hurt you? THat is really cool :)

Isn't it? He's clamped down on me with his pincers before, but it didn't really hurt.

I don't know..all those little legs or whatever! I am crazy ticklish! I would probably end up flinging him across the room :) DO you like snakes?

What kinds? IN YOUR HOUSE? THey are kinda scary...and creepy. My aunt had a boa constricter and a baby alligator then she just had a boa constricter cause it ate the baby alligator :)

My mom won't let me keep snakes, but I like all kinds! I think it would be cool to wrestle a big snake like a rock python or something. Trans-Pecos ratsnakes are like my favorite snake. This missionary told me this story of how he had gone down into a well in south america or something, and he was trying to figure out why the water was so polluted and nasty. Turns out there was a huge snake living down there! He yelled for a machete and killed the snake.

-Kelly

HIS daughter said...

Bless your mom :) lol :)That is another thing I am scared of...snakes! That story is really good though...I could totally see you doing that! (yelling for the machete and killing the snake that is!)

That would be SO AWESOME! We watched a thing on National Geographic that my friend recorded (we don't have tv). It was about this guy that was trying to find the biggest snake. He was actually tracking snakes, wrestling them, measuring them, and weighing them. It was awesome!

-Kelly

HIS daughter said...

Awesome for you :) I am sure you will enjoy seeing all the different snake varieties in the countries you minister in :) WHo knows, maybe you will even eat one!
Ok, so seriously, you are kind of starting to freak me out :) Well, not you personally...you don't have a tv? That is why you love to read! We have never had a tv either...Laptops all the way! That is just crazy and I seriously did not make that up...hmm...wonder what else we have in common...are you a secret martial arts Kung Fu master? LOL :)
~Katy

Kelly & Sarah Bryant said...

Snake meat sounds good right now. (Last Flight Out).

Secret Martial Arts Kung Fu Master? Uh no, I'm just a big Chuck Norris/Walker Texas Ranger Fan (Although I don't like when they put junk in it!)

-Kelly

HIS daughter said...

What part of the movie is that from? Now I want to go watch it! :)

I haven't ever really watched Chuck Norris...but I have watched some and that guy is crazy good at martial arts. Don't you hate it when there is this really great movie/show and you are watching it, really enjoying it and all the sudden they just throw in this scene that is not even needed? It gets annoying but that is when really good movies (Last Flight Out) are all the more enjoyable :)
~Katy

Kelly & Sarah Bryant said...

That's actually not what he says, but he does eat snake meat right after he wakes up from the chief knocking him out. Go watch it again, it's awesome!

-Kelly

Funny how you just deleted your brother's posts from ur blog, hehehe.

HIS daughter said...

Yeah he got in BIG trouble and you weren't supposed to read those :) (hence my deleting them! lol). He really is a great kid!
I do need to go watch it again the problem is that we don't have a vcr...the church does so i can watch it on that but do I have time? Unfortuently No. Today, I am working at the YMCA from 9am to 12 then I have like 3 1/2 hours then I go and teach TKD from 4pm to 5:30 pm then I have a class from 6pm to 9pm...I CAN HARDLY WAIT TILL SCHOOL IS OVER!!! This is my last week! :)

Hehehehe, I'm too quick! So you have an adopted brother too? That's cool. I have 6 cousins that were adopted from russia. Three are the Kelly (not me, that's my mom's maiden name, and hence my uncle's last name) family's, and three are the Sundt families. The Sundt families come from a northern part of russia, and they look like Eskimos! They're so awesome!

-Kelly

HIS daughter said...

Dude do you like sit at the computor and just wait for me to comment back :) Oh wait...you are homeschooling...that explains your quickness (sometimes too quick lol :-p)
Well, actually he is just a really good family friend and I hope someday my brother-in-law...yes i am a matchmaker :) lol :) That is really cool about your cousins! I wish adoption wasn't so expensive...if it weren't I would adopt like 18 kids! Well, maybe not that many :) I would have a permanent twitch with that many kids! lol :)
~Katy

Kelly & Sarah Bryant said...

...I got halfway through Emma. I don't know why I would've stopped.

Yeah, 18 kids would be fun for about 2 days. After that it would be really hard to get anything done AND maintain your sanity. (Kinda like my house) I think it's gotten worse as the kids have gotten older. Teenage sisters are either a cool breeze on a hot summer day or a rip-roaring Kansas tornado, depending on the minute. THEY'RE SO WIERD!!! No offense of course.

-Kelly

HIS daughter said...

LOL :) I take no offense to that comment about teenage girls. Why? Well, because I am one :-p Seriously, i feel bad for my brother just because he is ALONE (except for my dad) in a house full of heated feminine emotions (with 3 older sisters what do you expect!?)
I don't think I could do 18 kids...well...maybe I could last a week! But not much longer then that! Our good friends have 11 kids under the age of 17 with no twins or triplets...
SO, I did something tonight that talking to you inspired...I crashed and watched Ice Age :) I had forgotten how hysterical it was! lol :) Actually, I think I impersonate Manny and you are...SId! lol :) No, I didn't mean it! Promise (ok well maybe a little! I could just see you going "Oh look a dandelion...must be the last one of the season too!" And then eating it and then almost getting killed for it. Or I could see you dancing around the fire place: "From now on my name is Sid, lord of the flame." And then I can totally see someone going "Hey lord of the flame...your tales on fire!" Hehehehehe :)
~Katy

Kelly & Sarah Bryant said...

DUDE! I'll totally be SID! Sid is awesome, and we have a lot of the same characteristics. I do so many stupid things!

I had a REALLY weird day! I was doing school until about 9am, and then me and my parents went to Target. I picked up a hat that I was looking at yesterday. I almost made a complete fool of myself too. So my parents and I (hang on, I'm choking on a jelly bean) got split up, I figured they had already gone outside. They hadn't, and I was waiting outside for about 10 minutes. I was on the side of the van opposite the store, when I see my mom outside looking towards the van. Satisfied that I'm not outside, she turns around and walks back in the store. I start taking off running, I'm crusiing really fast, and all of a sudden there's this big, 3-foot high red cememt ball thing in my way. It's a Target "ornament" that our store (and most Super Targets) has. So I take a flying leap, land on the ball, and just barely miss slipping off and falling on my face. It was pretty funny. It actually probably looked pretty cool. I know there was a guy in an armoured truck that saw it, cause I could have reached out and touched the truck's grill while I was doing it!

Then we went to Racine zoo, which now charges, so we left. Then we went to Jelly Belly factory, hence why I'm eating jelly beans.

Then I just finished playing my first-ever softball game. We lost 12-5, but it was still fun. I've played backyard baseball all of my life, so I know how to hit a ball, but when you play backyard baseball you just smash the ball. Not so in softball, because usually the outfielders catch it. So everybody told me to hit the ball level or down. It totally screwed me up. I did OK, I hit a single. After the game though during practice, I just started smashing balls though (even surprising myself). It was fun. All the guys were like "where was that in the game!" It was fun.

-Kelly

HIS daughter said...

Sounds like a really fun day :) I am laughing so hard b/c i can just see the look that poor guy probably had on his face as you went flying through the air :) If you are SId who am I? DOn't answer that loL :)
Are you done choking on your jelly bean yet? Don't it too many! Why do zoos have to be so expensive? I love zoos but they are #1 in the city and #2 I can not afford anything right now until I get paid on friday!
Softball...sounds really fun :) CONGRATS ON THE SINGLE! I am such a klutz when it comes to bat and ball kind of things! My friend was teaching me to hold a tennis rachet...it wasn't pretty. I ended up swinging it ( I have not clue how I did this!) and reaching back and hitting her in the side of the face it left marks for like 1/2 hour! I swear I gave her a semi-concussion! I felt really bad! I don't think she has ever been apologized to so much in 10 minutes :)
No, tae kwon do is my sport but even then I have done some pretty stupid things. Like once I was up in front of everyone doing a front kick and I am a really high kicker (I will post a pic on flickr to show you how high) but my teacher kept raising the pad I was kicking at higher and higher until it was level to his head. So I attempted it and landed on my bum in a not so graceful manner in front of EVERYBODY! It was hysterical though! lol :) I was supposed to have done a jump front kick but I didn't...that probably made no sense to you...sorry!
My day was...stressful :) I had a total of 2 hours of free time! THis morning wasn't so bad. I got to work and we were crazy busy but it was a ton of fun :) Then we had to teach tkd and yeah...it was just not...peaceful! lol :)Imaginge 100 kids, 4 teachers...absolute pandemonium! LOL :)
Anyway, that is why after class I can home and just crashed and burned while watching Ice Age! (It was my excuse!).
~KAty

Kelly & Sarah Bryant said...

That jump was like the coolest thing I've done in awhile. I used to jump over shopping carts all the time.

Me not know what a jump front kick is??? I watch Walker Texas Ranger like every night! Granted, that doesn't teach you TKD, but you pick up some stuff.

100 kids in pandamonium sounds like fun. I'm ok with pandamonium at the right place and at the right time.

-Kelly

HIS daughter said...

Ok, I stand corrected mr martial arts texas walker person! lol :) I would like to see you do a front kick! ACtually, I bet you would be REALLY GOOD at any kind of martial arts. If you can jump over shopping carts! That takes talent :)
PANDEMONIUM and 100 KIDS...yeah...it gets difficult just because we are trying to do our job but sometimes there is just no controlling the kids and actually now we are having problems with some of the team leaders...pls. pray that everything will just work out for the Lord's glory...
Um...so yeah, I uploaded that pic. it was from a while ago but i will give you an idea of my kicking skills and then I also uploadied one of me and my dad and danny and sydney (my cousin) from a year or so ago. THis is how short I am oh and by the way Danny towers over dad now!
~Katy

Kelly & Sarah Bryant said...

I've always had fun jumping over stuff. I used to rollerblade like all time, and once my friends set up two big recliner lawnchairs in the middle of the sidewalk, and then two people sat down in them. Then I jumped over them! It was pretty cool. There was this one time when I jumped over two shopping carts. As I came down, I grazed the top edge of the second one! It was CRAZY!

I used to babysit kids at church while their parents were in a meeting about becoming members and stuff. The class lasted like 5 hours! We had fun though. But I didn't have to teach them anything!

Nice kick! I'm actually entertaining the idea of taking a class in martial arts. My friend Chuck (who's a sherrif, and he goes to my church) knows enough about martial arts that he was going to be training police cadets, so we'll see. I haven't decided yet.

Ha, I'm only 5'7, so from my point of view it's cool if girls are short.

-Kelly

BTW, most people play tennis with a RACKET, not a rachet. Funny spellcheck...I'm just envisioning you smashing your friend in the face with a giant rachet, hehehe!

HIS daughter said...

That sounds really fun watching those kids :) I love babysitting kids! I watch this ADORABLE 3 year old boy a few times a week :) Almost every time I am there he says "Katy Case I want you to stay here forever." It gives my this warm fuzzy feeling inside :) He is adorable. THere is a difference when you are trying to teach them something...especially physical cause then they run away...whatever! It can be fun :-p
You totally have my respect for jumping over those chairs and other stuff! I don't attempt it because...I have a way of tripping over my own two feet! lol :p
Thank you :) I think that you should take a class...you would LOVE it! I do...it has taught me alot, like, nothing is impossible if you put you mind to eat. When I was in the lower ranks, I broke the black board which is the equivalent of 2 pine boards and just stuff like that. It is neat when you realize that your body can do more than you ever though possible. I have gotten quite a few cuts and bruises though :)
I like being short! It is just hysterical b/c all of us girls are one height and Danny TOWERS over well...our whole family! It is funny :) 5'7 isn't that short!
~Katy

Racket or Rachet! LOL :) I was laughing hysterically when I was reading your post! THat was so funny! I can see myself swinging a huge rachet and conking her in the head too :) What can I say my spelling is the greatest but at least you get a laugh out of it :)

Kelly & Sarah Bryant said...

Yeah, when I'm around kids, I have a way of making them really rowdy and crazy. Usually I can calm them down though. If I'm not trying to teach them something, or if I'm not trying to get something done, I have a very high tolerance for "craziness"

I was wrestling Jakob the other night, and I was really whooping up on him. We're about the same size, but I do tons of manual labor and he doesn't, so I could beat the living daylights out of him if I had to. Well, Josh, my best friend, walks up and gets me in a headlock. He's about 180 pounds, and we're pretty evenly matched until he uses his weight efficientl! So he pins me down, and is just kind of "hovering" over me, when Jakob comes out of nowher and jumps on top of Josh. It COMPLETELY knocked the wind outta me, and I couldn't breathe at all! I was like "get off, get OFF!" It was pretty funny.

-Kelly

HIS daughter said...

That is funny? Boy, guys have a funny sense of humor...LOL :) NO, actually I hate getting the breath knocked out of my cause you can barely talk. Like once, we were sledding in my woods (hah lots of trees) and this one time I flew of the beaten path and wrapped myself around a tree knocking the breath out of me. So Jen and Dan start freaking out and Jen is like "Maybe she needs the heimlech!" And starts slamming on my chest and I am freaking out and trying to get away from her! All while not talking...yeah I am talented :) It was pretty funny :) So who ended up winning the wrestling match?
~Katy

Kelly & Sarah Bryant said...

I know what you mean about barely talk, I couldn't hardly get the words out!

I totally dominated Jakob, even though when I had his arm pinned behind him I got a black eye from his other elbow because wasn't paying attention because I saw Josh coming.

Josh (and Jakob) totally crushed me though. It was fun.

Hahahaha! I could totally see me being the one doing the heimlech! Whenever Eleesa (4, I think) starts coughing, I turn her upside down and pat her on the back. She starts cracking up!

-Kelly

HIS daughter said...

Well, at least you dominated kinda...hey it was 2 against one!Black eyes are trophies! A horse gave me a black eye once. It whipped its head up unexpectedly...I thought I was going to die! It was nasty! But it looked really cool so for the next 2+ weeks I went around telling people who asked about it "YOu should have seen the other guy." LOL :)
Sad thing is I could totally see you doing the heimlech too and not stopping! lol :) I would love to have a little little sister :)

Kelly & Sarah Bryant said...

Black eye's are trophies! It as funny because you cold only see it when I closed my eye. I'd get funny looks when I'd talk to people for awhile. And I TOTALLY dominated! After he popped me in the eyeball I got him in a headlock and he didn't get out until Josh got me in one!

I would too stop doing the heimlech! Even when I'm wrestling, I'll stop if they want me to! My little sister is awesome!

-Kelly

HIS daughter said...

Well, to me they are trophies :) I believe you dominated :) And I am just teasing you about the heimlich! :) I know you would stop!
I love little ones!

Any kind of visual "scar" is awesome! They're like badges of honor! ...Like the bald spot on my head. Or the scar on my pinky finger. Or the rugburn scars on my knee. The list goes on...

I'll have to post a pic of my little sister.

-Kelly

HIS daughter said...

They are badges of honor! Except, in my case most of them are from me being klutzy...anyway! YOu definately need to post a pic of you little sister :) Or your whole family...you talk about all these people and I have no clue who they are!
~Katy

Kelly & Sarah Bryant said...

True, I'll see what I've got. Maybe I'll try to post the one we took yesterday at Jelly Belly. I've got one from last fall that's pretty good also.

I had a relatively good day. About 4 I went over to Andrew's house and played the Wii. Then we made videos of us fighting. I picked him up and threw him off of their half-wall.

-Kelly

-Eleesa ate half a brat and then a whole hot dog! And she is like the tiniest, most petite little thing you've ever seen! I have no idea where she puts it!

HIS daughter said...

SOunds like a fun day :) I have never played the wii. Is it fun. Boy I have never done a lot of stuff huh :)
That is so funny about your little sister :) I know a lot off people like that who eat a ton and do not gain weight.
Threw him off the half wall? Sounds AWESOME. THe funny thing is that whenever we do throws for TKD I end up getting thrown because I am so small :) It is very interesting.
So, I just worked for 4 hours but it seemed like FOREVER! Being a secretary/receptionist is not as easy as it looks ;) The ones that take care of whole hospitals have my deepest admiration!
~Katy

Kelly & Sarah Bryant said...

The Wii is pretty fun. Tennis is the best.

Like seriously, she is TINY! And she eats like a pig!

I wish we had done the video on my camera, then I would have a copy that I could post. (In the video) Andrew shot me with a shotgun, and I did a pretty sweet fall off of the half wall. I like fell backwards, and did a somersault thing. It was fun!

It was funny, Mike came back from working at Jeff's house a couple days ago, and he goes "Hey Kelly, come here, I want to show you this move I learned." So I go over there, and he gets me in this crazy awesome headlock. I tried to back into, flip him over, everything! Finally I realized that I just had to use his weight to get him off of me. So I grabbed hold of his arms, pulled, and flung him to the ground. It was fun. He enjoyed it also. I know it sounds like I'm trying to be all macho-prideful, but I'm just telling a story about me and my brother having fun wrestling!

-Kelly

HIS daughter said...

You changed your pic again :) Still miss those red ear muffs...sniff sniff...

Well, she may eat like a pig cause she is a growing girl :)

I would love to see the video of you doing that flip! I am very proud of you!

Macho-prideful? Nah...lol :) YOu have a right to be very proud of yourself for figuring that out all by yourself :)

~Katy

-Kelly

HIS daughter said...

I thought you were working on NOT being calloused? And you were so fishing...but who am i to argue (said with angelic expression on my innocent face) :-p Top of the afternoon to you too! So, just went thrift store shopping and got some good stuff :)
~Katy

Kelly & Sarah Bryant said...

I am working on not being calloused! Sometimes I step back and look at stuff I'm typing and I'm like "Hmmm...this might be taken wrong" That's what I was talking about. I was just being overdramatic.

Thrift stores are the best. We have a really huge one that we go to every once in awhile. Since we moved it's like an hour away, which makes it a chore to get to.

-Kelly

HIS daughter said...

NO! Overdramatic :) I know and you are doing good...seriously though Kelly, I am not really that um...I don't take things wrong and if I did I would ask you about it. So just write whatever (well...just kidding!). Seriously, I will let you know if you hurt me horribly ;)
THE RED EAR MUFFS ARE BACK!!!! :p DId you do that just for me? :)
HUGE thrift store? Sounds amazing! Ours is pretty small but it has some great stuff. Like, i got cowboy boots for $5 today and they are normally like um $80-$100...
~Katy

Kelly & Sarah Bryant said...

I'm glad you're don't take things wrong very easily. It's more fun to talk to people like that. YES! Definetely let me know. (I'll return the favor, lol!)

Yes, the earmuffs were returned to my head just for you. Why do you like them so much? I look like a moron! Of course, that does fit my bloggr profile!

Boots for $5! NICE!

HIS daughter said...

I would expect nothing more then for you to return the favor!
Ahh :) Thanks for the earmuffs :) I don't know why I like them so much...you do not look like a moron in them! You look cute (in a weird way that is...lol) :p Maybe I like them so much b/c that is what i 1st say you in...I don't know! SO, are you saying if I hint enough i get something? lol :) Just kidding!

YEah, I am definately a bargain shopper!

~Katy

Kelly & Sarah Bryant said...

Ok, so the earmuffs stay.

Bargain shopping is the ONLY way to go! I mean, WHY would you ever want to spend hard-earned money on expensive clothes??? Unless of course it's a funny shirt.

HIS daughter said...

Bargain shopping is amazing! It is the only way I shop :) I think it is the way I have been raised...
Ahh...thank you for the earmuffs :) Um, so they stay until i get tired of them? LOL :)

~Katy

OK, who on earth are Tim, Chuck, and Mike? you talk about them alllll the time and I have no clue who they are...explain yourself sir! :)

Kelly & Sarah Bryant said...

Chuck is a Lake county Sheriff from our church.

Tim is another good friend from our church.

Mike is my almost 16 year old brother. We do pretty much everything together.

Boy that just makes life so much easier :) Thanks for explaining!

Kelly & Sarah Bryant said...

They're awesome guys! I enjoy every minute with them!

That is really cool that you have such good friends...I need to comment on some of your pics tomorrow...

Kelly & Sarah Bryant said...

Yeah, they've really helped me to grow in my walk with Christ. Calvary (my church) is like a big family. It's awesome!

Cool

HIS daughter said...

That is really neat about your church :) Have to add that to the IL list too! That is one thing I love about smaller churches is that the people are like a family.

Kelly & Sarah Bryant said...

I love my church! Yep, definetely add that to the list!

HIS daughter said...

I will have to stay the whole summer to accomplish all this stuff! Hey...have you ever thought about moody?

Kelly & Sarah Bryant said...

Yeah I have, but they definetely don't come from a reformed perspective, so that kinda ruled them out.

HIS daughter said...

really...i didn't know that...Mom wants me to think about going somewhere for a year or so to do something with my voice...moody has a really good music program so I have been kinda thinking about it and praying about it...I am not sure yet.
