Storying & Security

Over the course of the last few months, we've had the opportunity to learn basic storying skills so that we will be able to better teach people who learn orally. This past Monday we got the chance to tell all of our stories in order from creation to revelation. Each of the students and the staff had 1-2 stories to tell. It was really a great time worshipping God by telling His redemptive story. We are also doing that presentation for the church that most of us attend. I'm very excited about these new skills!

The rest of our week has been spent in learning about safety & security. We've learned a lot about risk assessment and personal safety. We've learned a lot of information that could end up being very helpful out on the mission field, especially if we end up in hostile areas. As we've talked over some of these matters regarding risk vs gain, we are keeping in mind that no risk is too great compared to the advance of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Closely linked to that is the fact that we want to assess and do what is most strategic for the advance of the gospel.

Gabe and I also got the chance to speak at the local jail this morning, which was really good. It's a great opportunity to stay sharp as far as preaching the gospel. It was really neat to see the fruit of that ministry evidenced this morning by guys truly worshipping God in song. It was amazing!

Praise God for the work that He is doing in teaching me through so many different experiences! Continue to pray that we as students here would eagerly seek to glorify Him in every area of our lives. Christ is everything!

P.S. The picture that I posted is of Gabe and I on our trip into Coicoyan, Mexico. Gabe and I are planning to be on a team together with his wife and the Wilkinson family. We are planning to work in Papua New Guinea.
