Brake Inspection and 16 1/2 Miles

I woke up late this morning because I can. I'm not working right now, so it's been nice to sleep in. Anyway, I rolled out of bed and got the coffee started. I had a great time with the Lord this morning. I wrote down a bunch of verses out of Romans 6 to memorize later. I am realizing more and more how Christ is the only source of true joy and peace. By the grace of God I am drawing closer to Him each and every day, partaking of that joy and peace.

I had my usual fare of Hot Pockets this morning. It seems that I will never get tired of those! After lunch and a couple of phone calls I cleaned all the dirty clothes and other debris out of the car that I'm using. I went caving twice this past week, which was amazing. The 2nd time was at night and involved tribal drums that I'm 70% sure were something spiritual and unnatural. It was a very interesting trip! There was a lot of playful banter that went on, especially between me and Ty. I belted out FF5's "Master of Disguise" also. It was a pretty gangsta night! Anyway, I had a pile of dirty clothes and gear in the back of the car, which I cleaned out.

After cleaning out the car, I carefully drove it to Farm and Fleet to have a brake inspection done. After 3 or 4 walks around the store, or roughly an hour and a half, the mechanic told me that it was an accident waiting to happen. I thanked him for his help, took the parts list, and drove the care to the church. I knew the brakes were shot, Dan just wanted to get an inspection so that he knew exactly what parts to buy. Kyle gave me a ride home, as I'm going to leave the car at the church until we can get the brakes fixed.

After I got back Alex and I decided to go for a bike ride. We turned right on 16 and hopped on the La Crosse River State Trail. We rode all the way to Medary, which gave us a total of 16 1/2 miles. It was a perfect day for a ride. It was a very flat ride, except for the hill right before the neighborhood entrance.

It was a great day! God is good! The picture is a blast from the past...
