The Baddest

9 AM has been become my daily “waking time”. That’s definitely a bit late in my opinion. I’d like to be getting up at 6. Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to try harder! I completed my morning routine, and then hit the books. I finished reading “Lords of the Earth”, wrote a couple of journals for my Peru project, and then began reading “Taking the High Places”. 3:30 rolled around, so I transferred my blogging stuff to my camera, and prepared to head over to the library. As I walked upstairs I realized that my plans were hindered by the fact that dad was running errands and mom was in bed with a headache. So I grabbed a Dew and waited for dad to get home. Listening to “Wake the Dead” by Family Force 5 right now. I wish I still had a pair of big headphones. The bass response is so much better with big headphones. Anyway, dad got home and went up to his room. I walked upstairs a few minutes later and found mom, dad, and Jill having a “discussion”. I tried to get my request to go up to the library through, but mom kicked me out. So I decided I had tried hard enough, told Mike to let them know where I was going, and rode off into the sunset.

I saw 2 snakes and a whole bunch of frogs on my way up to the library. I’m pretty sure a grasshopper committed suicide by jumping through the spokes of my wheel as I was riding along. 2 guys about my age or a little younger were on the trail, walking a dog and smoking. They looked kinda rough, but they didn’t give me any trouble. Actually, with my longish hair, dirty jean shorts, pewter necklace, wrinkled shirt, and camo hat, I probably looked pretty rough too! As I was hopping the curb after crossing 120 the bike chain fell off. So I flipped the bike over and put it back on. I need to get my bike fixed in the next couple of days here, especially since Mike is selling the Iron Horse to Josh. My time at the library was quite uneventful. The ride home was pretty nice. I ran into a couple of guys who were probably like 15. As I was about to pass them they were glaring at me like “We’re the baddest yo! You wanna mess with us?” So I gave them a piercing glare and they looked away. And of course I rode away laughing to myself. The ride up to Fremont Library is so boring compared to riding up to the Round Lake library!

I got back to the house and jumped on the back of mike’s riding mower as he was mowing the lawn. After a minute or two of hanging on for dear life, I jumped off and headed inside. I worked on reading more of “Taking the High Places”, and then worked on another Peru journal. Then mom and dad came home with pizza! Oh yeeeaaah! We watched some movie about 3 girls following their dreams. Definite snooze fest. Then I went back downstairs, worked on more school, and finally fell asleep reading “Taking the High Places”.
